U.S. Department of State Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues Thomas K. Yazdgerdi is visiting Ukraine on April 10-15. On the eve of his working visit, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Valeriy Chaly met with Special Envoy Yazdgerdi at the Embassy of Ukraine

Valeriy Chaly highlighted how important is the commemoration of Holocaust victims for Ukraine.  The Ambassador emphasized also the importance of an official recognition by the U.S. of the Holodomor (Great Famine in Ukraine of 1932-1933) as genocide of the Ukrainian people. He underscored that it would become another powerful signal of recognizing common values.
