On April 24, 2014, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister D.Lubkivsky took part in public events in the leading think tanks of Washington, DC, namely, Brookings Institute, Carnegie Endowment, The Atlantic Council, which were attended by the representatives of American Federal government, Congress, media, expert society and foreign diplomatic corps.
During the events the current situation in Ukraine was discussed with the emphasis on the recent aggressive movements from Russian Federation. Deputy Foreign Minister stressed the determination of the Ukrainian authorities to defend the democratic choice of the people and resolute plans of Kyiv to complement constitutional, economic and military reforms. D.Lubkivsky thanked the U.S. for its support of Ukraine.
Also, D.Lubkivsky met with the former U.S. National Security Advisor, prominent American politician and expert Zbigniew Brzezinski. The parties discussed possible ways to stop Russian aggression against Ukraine and possible aspects of American support to Ukraine.
