Ambassador of Ukraine in the United States Valeriy Chaly delivered remarks at the opening of Ukraine and Religious Freedom Roundtable

Ambassador of Ukraine in the United States Valeriy Chaly delivered remarks at the opening of Ukraine and Religious Freedom Roundtable, where he underlined the important role of the religious organizations in Ukraine.

He also emphasized that Ukrainians has shown and continues to demonstrate a unique level of religious tolerance, compassion and support during events in Kyiv’s Maidan and in a fight against the Russian aggression. Valeriy Chaly also spoke about an alarming situation with religious freedoms and human rights in the occupied Crimea and uncontrolled areas of Donbas. 
The Ukrainian Ambassador called on the international partners to support Ukraine in its effort to restore peace and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The parties agreed to continue consultations with a view to elaborate joint measures.
