At the meeting Ian R. MacDonald informed of the pace of preparation for signing of Product Sharing Agreement between Chevron and Ukraine’s Government that will be implemented at the Oles’ka gas field located in the L’viv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Also, Vice-President of Chevron communicated about information campaign in January and February this year for local communities of the above regions on the environment-friendly shale gas extraction technologies.

Ambassador O.Motsyk elaborated on the measures by the Government of Ukraine aimed at the strengthening of the state’s energy security and improvement of conditions for foreign investors to carry out projects on shale gas extraction in Ukraine.

The sides also discussed an opportunity to organize a study trip for representatives of the local authorities, R&D circles and NGOs of the L’viv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions to the Chevron drill sites in Pennsylvania, the U.S.
