On March 25-29, 2013 the United States Department of Commerce under the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), in partnership with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian scientific and research institutions, held International Scientific and Practical Workshops on Intellectual Property and Innovation in Kyiv and Odesa, Ukraine.
As part of the U.S. Government’s technical assistance to Ukraine, CLDP has been tasked by the U.S. Department of State to provide technical assistance to Ukraine in the domain of enforcement of intellectual property rights (IPR). The workshops included contract facilitation and protection of intellectual property in the transfer of technology, international registration of trademarks, and foreign patenting of inventions. The workshops help to facilitate IPR enforcement process in Ukraine on the governmental, institutional and social level, as well as improve investment climate and contribute to the economic development of Ukraine.
