While in the U.S., V.Kaskiv signed a service agreement between the State Enterprise National Project “LNG Terminal” and American company “Excelerate Energy” – a global market leader in the construction of offshore platforms for liquefied natural gas.

This Agreement comes as a next step after the Framework Agreement on Cooperation signed on November 26, 2012, at the official ceremony of the beginning of LNG terminal construction.

In accordance with the National Project “LNG Terminal”, signing of the above service agreement will enable the establishment of a sea platform for liquefied natural gas in the port of “Yuzhnyi” near Odesa with a total capacity of up to 5 billion cubic meters of LNG annually as early as next year.

A number of issues of further development of cooperation between Ukraine and the United States were raised during the V.Kaskiv’s meetings in the U.S. Department of State and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

To inform of Ukrainian-American cooperation in the investment sphere and the support of national projects of Ukraine, including “LNG Ukraine” project, V.Kaskiv gave live interview to “Voice of America” broadcasting company and answered questions from several mass media, including “The Wall Street Journal” and “The Times”.

The meetings proved the willingness of the United States to continue support of Ukraine in the development of energy sector, diversification of energy supply, and, therefore, enhancing the energy security of Ukraine.

During the meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. O.Motsyk V.Kaskiv discussed the prospects of further development of Ukrainian-American cooperation in the investment sphere and the involvement of American companies in the implementation of the national projects of Ukraine.
