On July 12, 2013 Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Vice President of Boeing Jeff Hofgard and Director of International Operations Bryan Lopp.
The main subject of discussion was the current state and the prospects for cooperation between American aircraft company and our state. Boeing, which is a major supplier of aircraft for Ukrainian market, started its cooperation with Ukrainian partners in 1992. Now Ukrainian civil airlines operate over 80 Boeing airplanes.
During the meeting both sides expressed mutual interest in expanding the Ukrainian-American cooperation in the sphere of aviation. Special attention was also paid to Boeing’s membership in the U.S. - Ukraine Business Council.
The main purpose of the U.S. - Ukraine Business Council, which includes more than 200 leading U.S. companies, is to support American business interests in Ukraine and assist Ukrainian companies on the U.S. market as well as to facilitate bilateral trade and investment, and ensure favorable business climate for private sector and free enterprise. The leadership of Boeing, which is one of the co-founders of the U.S. - Ukraine Business Council, expressed the hope for the most efficient use of the opportunities offered by the Council to advance cooperation with Ukraine.
Also, it was agreed to arrange Ambassador’s visit to the company’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington, in the nearest future.
