On September 6, 2013 the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) successfully launched into space the spacecraft to study the Moon atmosphere (Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE). On the invitation of NASA Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Oleхander Motsyk attended the LADEE launch ceremony.
After LADEE was launched the Ambassador of Ukraine held a brief meeting with NASA Administrator Charles Bolden and congratulated him with the successful beginning of the mission to the Moon, they also discussed Ukrainian-American cooperation in space exploration.
Ukraine is part of the "Antares" rocket program, which is one of the main means of delivery of goods and equipment to the International Space Station. The next demonstration launch of "Antares" is scheduled for the second half of September this year.
