Participation of the Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S. in the Embassy Adoption Program

In 2011-12 and 2012-13 school years the Embassy took part in the Embassy Adoption Program, organized by District of Columbia Public Schools. In the course of the Program, the Embassy adopted a DC school each year.
The Program provides for school visits by Embassy diplomats, who tell about Ukraine, its history, culture and customs. At the end of a school year, teachers and students of the school are invited to the Embassy, where Ambassador tells them about Embassy operations and its historic chancery. In turn, the students present their poems and drawings of Ukraine.
At the end of a school year, the Embassy received the Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding leadership and guidance to the students of DC. The Embassy will continue its participation in the Embassy Adoption Program in future school years.
