On September 27th, 2013, “Foreign Procurement Group” (FPG) meeting took place at the Embassy of Ukraine. FPG is an association of Defense cooperation attaches, representatives of Ministries of Defense and Defense Procurement and Acquisition Ministries of the countries accredited in the U.S.
Ukrainian Defense Attaché Vice Admiral I.Kniaz informed the audience of the reforms in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the importance of military-technical cooperation with the U.S. and other international partners, in particular with respect to multinational military exercises and participation in the peacekeeping operations.
Also, Counselor of the Ukrainian Embassy A.Nikitov briefed the attendees of the status and areas of cooperation in the above sphere.
The U.S. side was presented by Deputy Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency R.Genaille.
During the meeting, priorities and results of FPG activities in 2013 were discussed, including further development of partnership in the military-technical sphere.
