The delegation of Ukraine headed by Minister for Emergencies Mr. Viktor Baloha visited Washington, DC on July 18-19. The main purpose of this visit to the USA was to get acquainted with the technologies and practices for the management in emergency situations, equipment and services necessary to ensure interoperability among law enforcement, rescue and medical services. Special attention was given to the preparations for the European football championship Euro-2012 in Kyiv and design of the unified system of emergency response  «112».

During his stay in Washington, DC the Ukrainian delegation held several meetings at the United States Trade and Development Agency, visited emergency situations response centers. Ukrainian representatives also met with management of leading American companies interested in developing cooperation with Ukraine in the area of prevention and emergency response.

Minister Baloha also gave interviews to local media, and met with leaders of Ukrainian diaspora in the United States.
