On January 7-11, 2014 a delegation of the State Space Agency of Ukraine headed by the Chairman Yuri Alekseev attended intergovernmental forum for the exploration of outer space and the Summit of Heads of Space Agencies in Washington DC.
During these events Yu. Alekseev presented views on international cooperation in the field of space exploration, implementation of prospective projects for cooperation in the space sector and on the space strategy of Ukraine until 2020.
During the visit the delegation held various meetings with representatives of the United States government agencies and commercial companies to discuss practical issues of Ukrainian-American cooperation in space.
In particular, during the meeting with the Administrator of the National Agency for Aeronautics and Space USA (NASA) C.Bolden the prospects of participation of the Ukrainian side in the American space projects were discussed as well as third successful launch of the Antares rocket on January 9, 2014 from NASA Wallops Regional Spaceport in Virginia.
During the visit the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olexander Motsyk attended the meetings of the delegation.
During his stay in Washington, DC, Yu. Alekseev gave an interview to Ukrainian news agency "Ukrinform".
