Following the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast held on February 5, which was attended by President Donald Trump, the 20th Annual Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast took place on February 6 in Washington, DC, continuing a long-standing tradition of prayer rooted in shared values of faith, freedom, and human dignity that unite Ukraine and the United States.
The Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast brought together policymakers, faith leaders, and civil society for an interfaith gathering united in prayer for peace, freedom, and Ukraine.
The program included a video address by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who spoke about Ukraine’s ongoing struggle to protect life and light amid Russia’s full-scale war, and the need for concrete, daily efforts alongside diplomacy. Ruslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, delivered a keynote speech at the gathering and thanked American partners for their bipartisan support for Ukraine, for their assistance, weapons, and prayers.
In her remarks, Ambassador Olga Stefanishyna spoke about faith as the source of Ukraine’s resilience in the face of Russia’s full-scale invasion, now nearing its fourth year. She called for continued prayers and support to save lives, protect Ukrainian cities, and ensure that light ultimately prevails over darkness.
