On April 5-6, 2014, the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. hosted the Tenth Leadership Seminar of the Ukrainian American Youth Association (UAYA) attended by UAYA members from various states of America as well as their mentors.
The main goal of the seminars is to help Ukrainian youth develop leadership skills to be used in the future.
Holding UAYA seminars at the Embassy has become a good tradition. During their visits to the Embassy young Ukrainians have a chance to learn about the history and activities of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in the U.S. as well as to meet with the Ambassador of Ukraine and the Embassy staff.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Ukraine Olexander Motsyk expressed his gratitude to UAYA members for preserving Ukrainian language, traditions and culture in the U.S. and underlined the important role of the young generation of Ukrainian American community in supporting reforms in Ukraine, European integration of our country as well as further strengthening of Ukraine - U.S. cooperation.
On the recommendation of the Embassy, the attendees of the Seminar met with the representatives of a brand new Ukrainian organization “Razom” (Together) who elaborated on the history of its establishing and major goals and results. The parties exchanged their views about the prospects for further activities to support Ukraine and Ukrainian people.
