On April 24, 2014, while on a working visit to the U.S. Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Danylo Lubkivsky met with the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Catherine Novelli, who chairs U.S.-Ukraine Working Group on economic and financial issues.
The U.S. State Department is a main coordinator of the initiative on the American economic, financial, technical and expert assistance to Ukraine.
During this meeting the counterparts discussed a number of issues of bilateral dialogue given a current geopolitical, financial and economic situation in our country. C.Novelli praised the effective work of the Government of Ukraine in the economic sphere. A special attention was paid to the issue of reaching agreement between Ukraine and IMF regarding a new program, and diversification of energy supply to our country.
The U.S. side stressed that it is prepared to provide Ukrainian economy with significant assistance and further develop bilateral trade and economic as well as investment relations. In addition to that, the parties discussed preparations for U.S.-Ukraine Business Summit to be held in Washington this coming summer.
