On July 10, 2014, First Ukrainian Air & Space Day was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. American «Broad Street Capital Group» and US-Ukraine Business Council have organized this event in partnership with the Embassy.
Deputy Chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine S.Zasuha led a delegation of about 15 heads of leading national high-tech enterprises, including M.Yangel State Design Bureau «Yuzhnoye», A.Makarov Southern Machine-Building Plant, State Enterprise «Arsenal», Public Corporation «Hartron», Public Corporation «Elmiz», State enterprise of a special instrumentation «Arsenal», Binational company «Alcantara Cyclone Space».
Within this event perspective projects, opportunities of export, investment and cooperation with Ukraine in the airspace and high technological fields including new technological solutions and state initiatives were presented to the representatives of American business (including «The Boeing Company», «Orbital Sciences Corporation», «Lockheed Martin Corporation», «Ultisat», «Intelsat», «UTC Overseas»), investors, experts, diplomats and journalists.
Within the diversification of export markets and deepening of mutual cooperation with the United States of America participants of the event have emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s return to the first category according to the program of International evaluation of flight safety of the U.S. Federal Aircraft Administration and reestablishment of direct aircraft connection between both countries, and also successful realization of a mutual project in the load delivery to the International airspace station by the missile carrier aircraft «Antares», the next launch of which is expected to be soon. This project is another proof of reliability and high quality of Ukrainian high technological production as well as practical realization of mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S. in the airspace sphere.
As a result of this event, it was agreed to continue steps towards strengthening Ukraine’s positions in the realization of joint projects in space sphere, attracting investments in the modernization of Ukrainian enterprises and expansion of the usage of Ukraine constructed aircrafts in international air transportation as well as importance of signing the Bilateral Intergovernmental Agreement on air security.
