On August 7, 2014, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Thomas Welke, “AGCO” Senior Vice President.
The Ambassador informed American businessman about the current political, social and economic situation in Ukraine and the course of anti-terrorist operation. He underlined that the Government of Ukraine, despite the situation in the East is ready to provide the most favorable conditions for investment projects in the agricultural sector of our country. Ambassador Motsyk also elaborated on the significant export and investment opportunities of Ukrainian agricultural sector.
In his turn, T.Welke provided information on the current state and prospects of expansion of «AGCO» projects in Ukraine, particularly increase of modern agricultural machinery, equipment and technology sales for the processing and storage of agricultural products. «AGCO» is ready not only to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Ukrainian farmers, but also to facilitate reforms implementation in the Ukrainian agriculture, especially in its private sector. T.Welke also stressed that Ukraine, thanks to its natural, climatic and geographical features and highly skilled workforce, in terms of agricultural potential ranks second only to the United States and is able in a foreseen future to double food production that is especially important in the context of strengthening world food security.
In conclusion, O.Motsyk informed about the specialized event dedicated to the export and investment opportunities of Ukrainian agricultural sector that is to be held by the Embassy in the fall of 2014. T.Welke confirmed the readiness of «AGCO» to take part in the event and to share their successful experience of doing business in Ukraine.
