Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S. Hosted a Lecture on the New York Group of Ukrainian Poets

On December 11, 2014, Ukraine’s Embassy in Washington hosted a lecture by Marija Rewakowycz on the New York Group of Ukrainian Poets, organized together with the Shevchenko Scientific Society.
The New York Group of Ukrainian Poets was an informal group of Ukrainian emigrant poets, which emerged in the 1950’s in New York. A member of group, poetess Zhenya Vasylkivska, shared her poetry with the guests of the evening.
The event was accompanied by an exhibition of modernist posters depicting Ukrainian writers and poets, organized by activists of the new wave of Ukrainian emigration to the USA. The money raised at the event was transferred to support the 25th Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
