On January 23, 2015 the Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S. hosted an event dedicated to the Ukrainian Unity Day, which was attended by representatives of Ukraine’s diplomatic mission, Ukrainian diaspora and Ukrainian media.

Addressing the attendees of the event, Ambassador Olexander Motsyk emphasized the symbolism of the Ukrainian Unity Day for the current generation of Ukrainians and the lessons we should learn from our history. He also thanked Ukrainian Americans for supporting Ukraine  to counter Russian aggression and called to join global Twitter storm in support of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, to be held on January 26, 2015, as well as to  continue working together to help Ukraine.
