The Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate arrived in the U.S. to participate in the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. Since 1953, the event is held annually with the participation of the U.S. President, religious and community leaders, as well as politicians, diplomats and businessmen from all over the world.

During the meeting Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk emphasized an important spiritual mission of His Holiness, who deserved commendation, love and respect of people, both in Ukraine and abroad, due to his wisdom, courage and patriotism.  

While in D.C., Patriarch Filaret will meet with U.S. Department of State officials, U.S. senators and congressmen, NGO’s representatives.
