On March 11, 2015, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Secretary of State of Maryland John Wobensmith and Director of International Affairs of the Office of the Secretary of State Anna Yankova to discuss the prospects of expanding regional cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S.
Ambassador Motsyk started the meeting by informing representatives of Maryland about the international efforts of Ukraine’s leadership aimed at restoring peace in the country. He also expressed his willingness to visit Ukraine to take part in economic forums dedicated to business and trade development.
Particular emphasis in the course of the meeting was made on possible ways of providing assistance by the state of Maryland to Ukraine: for instance, facilitating the treatment of wounded Ukrainian military in the United States, establishing connections between medical institutions of Maryland and Ukraine, and other types of assistance.
