On March 14, in Washington D.C., due to the first year of the temporary occupation of the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America highlighted Crimea as an integral part of Ukraine’s sovereign territory and Crimean Tatars’ traditions as a vital component of Ukraine’s culture.
The event was held within the framework of celebrating Nowruz and the Nowruz Commission’s Fifth Anniversary. The Nowruz Gala was attended by over 500 guests from thirteen states.
The Embassy presented video and photo exhibit on Crimea and Crimean Tatars’ cultural display. Among Embassy’s guests were prominent representatives of the local Crimean Tatar community.
