Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk made a working visit to Alabama on April 6-8, upon the invitation of the Alabama Council on World Affairs.
While visiting Montgomery, Ambassador Motsyk was received by Governor Robert Bentley and Lt. Governor Kay Ivey. Their meetings were dedicated to the development of Ukraine-U.S. interregional cooperation and the American assistance to fend off the Russian aggression against our country. Ambassador also addressed the joint session of Alabama legislature.
In addition to official meetings, the Ukrainian Ambassador spoke at the Alabama Council of World Affairs and the Air University. He also had meetings with the Air University leadership and students from Ukraine and other neighboring countries.
Olexander Motsyk also visited Birmingham, the biggest city of Alabama and a sister city of Vinnytsia, Ukraine. Together with Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Birmingham Scotty Colson he had a meeting with Mayor William Bell, to whom he presented a letter from Vinnytsia Acting Mayor Sergiy Morgunov.
Ambassador Motsyk’s visit to Alabama included several interviews to local media.
