An open expert discussion Problems of Crimean Tatars after Annexation and Perspectives of Crimea Reintegration was held at the Embassy of Ukraine to the USA on June 25, 2015, with keynote speakers from Ukraine and the USA: Minister for Information Policy of Ukraine Yuriy Stets, Chargé d’Affairs of Ukraine in the USA Yaroslav Brisiuck, President of the US-Ukraine Foundation Nadia MacConnell and Dr. Natalya Belitser from Pylyp Orlyk Institute for Democracy (Kyiv).

The head of Ukraine’s diplomatic mission in the USA stressed the importance of counteracting Russia’s blatant propaganda and lies, which is nothing more than a smoke screen to cover its crimes and avoid justice for human rights and freedoms’ violations in occupied Crimea, including a discriminatory policy towards the indigenous people of the territory – the Crimean Tatars.

Yuriy Stets announced the launch of a new Ukraine’s TV channel that will broadcast abroad in English, Russian, Ukrainian and the Crimean Tatar language as well as briefed about other projects of his Ministry.

He expressed his appreciation to Ukrainian community of the USA and Americans for their consistent support of Ukraine and urged them to be even more active in fighting Kremlin’s propaganda because it is high time for so-called information volunteers.
