Embassy of Ukraine to the US, on behalf of the President of Ukraine, awarded veterans with medals commemorating the liberation of Ukraine from fascist invaders

On May 9, 2016, as a follow up of observance in the USA of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the Victory Day over Nazism in World War II, the Embassy of Ukraine to the US, on behalf of the President of Ukraine, awarded veterans with medals commemorating the liberation of Ukraine from fascist invaders.
After the ceremony, representatives of the Defense Attaché Office of the Embassy met with members of the Baltimore Association of the Veterans of World War II who took part in the liberation of Ukraine.
The veterans shared their personal accounts of World War II and paid tribute to the men and women in uniform who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine and Europe. Representatives of the Embassy informed about the situation in Ukraine in the context of the ongoing Russian aggression.
