Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Valeriy Chaly held a meeting with representatives of the American Jewish Committee, which is one of the most influential organizations of Jewish communities in the United States and worldwide.
The Ambassador extended his greetings to the Jewish participants in the meeting on the AJC’s current 110th global anniversary forum and noted the longstanding and practical contribution of the organization to the development and strengthening of the Ukraine-U.S. cooperation.
The meeting was focused on topical issues of life of the Jewish community of Ukraine, as well as Ukraine-U.S. and Ukraine-Israel relations. The Ambassador called on AJC representatives to continue their advocacy for Ukraine inside the U.S. and internationally.
Ambassador Valeriy Chaly informed his interlocutors about the current reform processes in Ukraine, implementation of the Minsk agreements as well as the Ukrainian Government’s efforts to ensure rights and freedoms of national minorities, including the Jewish. He also stressed the priority attention Ukraine is paying to marking the 75th Anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy at high international level in September this year.
