Today the California State Assembly with Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Valeriy Chaly in attendance adopted the resolution to commemorate the millions of victims of Holodomor 1932-1933 – organized by the Soviet regime against the Ukrainian people (http://bit.ly/2bwPkEa).

The California Assembly by this resolution also designated November 26, 2016 as Holodomor Remembrance Day.
In addition, the resolution underlines that California is home to the third largest Ukrainian community in the US who enrich California through their leadership, and contribution in agriculture, academia, government and the arts.
The adoption of this resolution by the legislative body of California is an important sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their quest to restore historical truth and preserve the memory of millions of innocent victims of the Soviet totalitarian regime, which is especially important at a time when our country continues to struggle against aggression from Russia.
Ambassador of Ukraine took part in the Assembly meeting as part of his visit to California.
