Defense Attaché of Ukraine Major-General Volodymyr Havrylov took part in activities that were organized by Rochester NY Ukrainian Group on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine.
Local government representatives and members of Congress as well as the Ukrainian delegation on treatment of veterans and wounded warriors, which visited Rochester as a part of Open World program, took part in the meeting.
In his speech at the Ukrainian Centennial monument, which marked the 100 years anniversary of Ukrainian settlement around Rochester NY, Volodymyr Havrylov admitted that in combatting Russian aggression Ukrainian people have passed a test for dignity, unity and readiness to lay down its lives for a future of their country. He stressed an importance of the assistance provided by the United States in building up defense capabilities of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Havrylov also expressed his gratitude to Rochester Ukrainian community for its active position in organization of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in this difficult time.
