Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. welcomed members of Nestor Group - an informal alliance of intellectuals and civic activists, established with the aim of developing a strategic vision for Ukraine.
Ambassador Valeriy Chaly recognized the important role played by the civil society in strengthening of democracy in Ukraine, its security as well as in other aspects of the Ukrainian society and politics. Group members: Yevhen Hlibovytsky, Oleksandr Sushko, Alexandra Baklanova, Svyatoslav Pavlyuk and Viktoriya Bryndza shared their vision of transformations that is taking place in the Ukrainian civil society after the Revolution of Dignity on Maidan. They also talked about Ukraine’s unique volunteer movements, and the way the civil society becomes an active instrument to address important issues on the national and grass-root levels.
Ukrainian MPs Mustafa Nayyem, Svitlana Zalishchuk and Serhiy Leshchenko also joined the event.
