Ukrainian governmental delegation headed by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Yuliia Kovaliv is working in Washington DC to advance US-Ukraine economic cooperation.
During the first day of the visit, Ukrainian officials met with counterparts in several US federal agencies to exchange thoughts on practical steps aimed on further development of strategic partnership with the United States. In particular, delegates had meetings with United States Trade Representative Michael Froman as well as with Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews. American officials confirmed the strong United States’ commitments to support reform agenda in Ukraine and take actions to deepen US-Ukraine trade and investment relationships.
Moreover, high level Ukrainian government delegation had constructive discussions with representatives of American business community during working lunch organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA in cooperation with the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council. During the event, participants discussed a number of issues for further development of strong US-Ukraine business ties.
On October 5, senior U.S. and Ukrainian government representatives will continue economic discussions in the framework of the sixth meeting of the U.S.-Ukraine Trade and Investment Council (TIC).
Participants will discuss a range of issues, including how to address barriers to increased bilateral trade and how to improve the business and investment climate in Ukraine.
In addition to the TIC, Ukrainian delegation will meet with the leadership of USAID - US Agency for International Development, World Bank and Atlantic Council.
Working together with American colleagues to open new promising markets and secure economic development of Ukraine.
