Antares was developed by Orbital ATK with the involvement of foreign partners, including a number of Ukrainian companies. The basic design of the core stage of the rocket was developed by Pivdenne Design Bureau and produced at Makarov Pivdennyi Machine-Building Plant (both from Dnipro) in cooperation with other Ukrainian companies, like Hartron-Arcos (Kharkiv), Hartron-UCOM (Zaporizhia), Rapid (Chernigiv), and others. Ukrainian experts also participated in the rocket tests conducted in the U.S.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Valeriy Chaly, Director General of Pivdenne Design Bureau Olexander Degtiariov, as well as representatives of Pivdennyi Machine-Building Plant attended the launch.
Right before the launch Ukrainian Ambassador Valeriy Chaly met with Administrator of NASA Charles Bolden. 
Antares project is an example of successful cooperation between the space industries of Ukraine and the United States in the area of peaceful space exploration.
