During the event, Dr. Liudmyla Hrynevych, Director of Ukrainian Holodomor Research and Educational Consortium (HREC) presented the second volume of new fundamental research “Chronicles of collectivization and famine of 1927-1933".
After the presentation the representatives of academic circles of Ukraine, the United States and Canada, in particular Dr. Bohdan Klid, Director of Research of HREC at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta, Dr.Frank Sysyn, Director of the Peter Jacyk Centre for Ukrainian Historical Research, Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, Ms.Marta Baziuk, Executive Director of HREC (Canada) and Larysa Kurylas, the architect of Holodomor Memorial in Washington, D.C. shared with the audience the results of their latest works on Holodomor-genocide.
Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine to the United States Mrs. Oksana Shulyar on behalf of the Ambassador of Ukraine Valeriy Chaly welcomed the participants and stressed the importance to continue academic research and to deliver the truth about the Holodomor to the world.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine and the Shevchenko Scientific Society, Washington DC Chapter, together with the Holodomor Research and Education Consortium at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies and the U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor Genocide Awareness 1932-1933.
