On behalf of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko the Ambassador conveyed to the President and the friendly People of Trinidad and Tobago the most sincere wishes for peace and prosperity.
During the official ceremony, Ambassador had a meeting with the President at which they exchanged of ideas on the further development of bilateral dialogue. Ambassador Chaly said that given ongoing Russian aggression in the East of our country, Ukraine counts upon the solidarity of its international partners. President Carmona reaffirmed the support of his country for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. They also discussed the possibilities of visa liberalization between Ukraine and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. During the ceremony, Ambassador Valeriy Chaly signed the guest book.
The Ambassador of Ukraine presented the copy of the credentials to Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Ms. Jennifer Daniel before the official credential ceremony at the President’s office. The issues on collaboration within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations were discussed.
Another meeting took place during the Ambassador’s visit with Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Ms. Frances Seignoret. Both sides presented their views on enhancement of trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The possibilities of Trinidad and Tobago within the CARICOM Single Market were also stressed.
Ambassador Chaly also met with President of the Trinidad Tourism Association Mr. Andrew Welch as well as the local business representatives.
The Trinidad and Tobago’s media broadly highlighted the Ambassador’s visit to the country.
