The President expressed gratitude to the American party for a significant practical assistance in the enhancement of energy security of Ukraine and noted interest in broader attraction of modern American technologies and advanced experience in the sphere of energy in our country.

The Head of State emphasized significant potential for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukraine and USA in the energy sphere and praised the active interest of the American energy companies  in Ukraine.

The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the nuclear energy sector, energy production in Ukraine, as well as the possibility of supplying alternative fuels, in particular liquefied gas from the United States.

The parties also discussed the enhancement of European energy security, particularly in the context of modernization and development of transit capacities of Ukraine and the implementation of new European transport energy projects.

The U.S. Secretary of Energy noted the potential of Ukraine and compared its importance for Europe with that of Texas State for USA.

The parties confirmed common position as regards the menace of the Nord Stream 2 for the energy security of both Ukraine and Europe.

The U.S. Secretary of State accepted the invitation of President Petro Poroshenko to visit Ukraine soon.
