Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly together with President and CEO of Holtec International Dr. Kris Singh, Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy for International Nuclear Energy Policy and Cooperation Edward McGinnis took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony of Holtec Technology Campus that has new technology center and manufacturing facilities.
In his speech, Valeriy Chaly underlined that energy security cooperation is one of the top priorities of Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership. Holtec International is a reliable partner of Ukraine in the realization of such important projects as Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) Dry Storage Facility for Chernobyl NPP and Centralized SNF Storage Facility for the needs of Khmelnitsky, Rivne and South Ukraine NPPs. The implementation of the latter project will dramatically reduce our dependence on Russia’s interim SNF storing services and will save significant funds spent on these needs.
During a meeting with Chris Singh Ambassador Valeriy Chaly discussed further prospects of industrial cooperation with Holtec International that envisages establishment of manufacturing facilities in Ukraine with the involvement of Ukraine’s industrial and engineering potential.
The delegation of NNEGC “Energoatom” headed by company’s President Yuri Nedashkovsky continues consultations with Holtec International in order to work out concrete details of joint projects implementation during their visit to company’s headquarters.
