While on a visit to Washington D.C. on July 21-25, 2012, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Social Policy Lidiya Drozdova participated in the round table at the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. with American public charitable organizations.
Deputy Minister informed the round table participants about the implementation of social initiatives by President Viktor Yanukovych and related state programs. The ways to further develop cooperation between Ukraine and U.S. public organizations to counter trafficking in human beings in Ukraine were discussed along with issues to promote gender equality, social services provision including handicapped children rehabilitation.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk marked the importance of further efficient cooperation between Ukraine and U.S. in social and humanitarian sphere, in particular within Ukraine-U.S. Plan of Action to counter trafficking in human beings.
