Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly met with the newly appointed US Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Marie Royce
Valery Chaly expressed Ukraine’s gratitude to the US Department of State for the implementation of a number of US projects for Ukraine within the framework of programs for professional, educational and cultural exchanges.
The parties agreed on further cooperation, in particular, with the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the Global Women Mentoring Partnership, and the Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) in preparing Ukrainian leadership that, in times of country transformations, would be able to implement effective reforms and revitalize the economy of the regions affected by Russian aggression. Valeriy Chaly expressed readiness of the Embassy to provide organizational and informational support for these and other programs.
At the meeting, the importance for Ukraine of continuing the special program for students – J-1 Visa Summer Work Travel Program – was emphasized.
