18 May 2023 marks the 79th anniversary of the forced deportation of the Crimean Tatars, which stands as one of the most heinous crimes committed by the Soviet totalitarian regime.

Honoring the memory of all those who became victims of this terrible crime Ambassador Oksana Markarova together with Defense Attaché General Borys Kremenetsky and representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Border Guard Service of Ukraine, raised the Crimean Tatar flag over the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington.

We are fighting for a day when the flag of Ukraine, together with the flag of the Crimean Tatars, will fly victoriously over the Ukrainian Crimea and all Crimeans will be able to return home.
