Ambassador Oksana Markarova took part at the NATO Youth Summit “NextGen Freedom & Security”, held in Washington DC.
Together with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, U.S. Department of Defense Dr. Colin H. Kahl, US National Security and Defense Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby, and others Ambassador addressed the future leaders of the transatlantic community with key messages:

- Ukraine needs NATO as much as NATO needs Ukraine.

- Russia is not only at war with Ukraine, its goal is to destroy the unity of the West. The future of the Euro-Atlantic community is being decided at the frontline of Ukraine.

- Without solid guarantees of security and protection of Ukraine with Article 5 of the Atlantic Treaty, Russian expansion to the west will not be stopped.

- Ukraine expects NATO allies to take a decisive step towards Ukraine's membership in the Alliance.
