The winner of several international awards, a powerful documentary “Superpower” co-directed by Sean Penn and Aaron Kaufman, was screened for the first time in Washington, D.C.
The film is based on true events and focused on President Zelenskyy’s leadership amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Ukraine’s battle for survival.
It was introduced by Yaroslav Brisiuck, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S., and Robin Shepherd, Executive Director of GLOBSEC for North America.
In his remarks Mr. Brisiuck stressed that heroism of the Ukrainian people, and personal leadership and courage of President Zelenskyy became an inspiration to people all over the globe and united the world in supporting Ukraine in its fight not only for our homeland, but for the fundamental values that we all share, such as liberty, democracy, and freedom to choose one’s own future. He thanked the U.S. Administration, Congress, and all Americans for the ironclad support and tremendous assistance that is helping to bring our victory closer.
