The Ukrainian and American communities gathered at the Holodomor Memorial in Washington to remember the millions of innocent victims of Stalin’s crime – the 1932-1933 Holodomor-Genocide in Ukraine.
Ambassador of Ukraine Oksana Markarova stressed that the Putin regime once again attempts to erase Ukrainian nation again. But international community is not silent
any more. Ambassador expressed gratitude to the U.S. leadership for support and called for the international recognition of the Holodomor as a genocide.
The US Assistant Secretary of State Geoffrey R. Pyatt assured that the US government will constantly stand by Ukraine in its fight against tyranny.
Father Andrii Chornopyskyi, parochial vicar of the Ukrainian National Catholic Shrine of Holy Trinity, opened the event with a prayer for the victims of Holomor.
