The United States has approved the sale of up to 16 Mark VI patrol boats and related equipment to Ukraine. The approval is a sign of deepening cooperation between the United States and Ukraine and a major step forward in advancing Ukraine’s naval capabilities.
The United States is currently preparing Six Mark VI for Ukraine using U.S. security assistance funds. The remaining vessels will be available for Ukraine to purchase using its military budget.
The Mark VI is a modern and maneuverable vessel designed for coastal deployment. These boats will provide Ukraine with unique capability to defend its territorial integrity and will enable the Ukrainian Navy to meet current and future threats in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
We highly appreciate the continued strong support of our U.S. partners aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The U.S. support, together with the reform of the national security and defense sector and its defense industry, are the key pillars that will help to establish modern NATO-interoperable Armed Forces, capable to effectively counter Russian aggression.
