In Paris, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with bipartisan delegations from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

The Head of State thanked the President of the United States, Joseph Biden, both chambers and both parties of Congress for their support of Ukraine and for the important military assistance. He also expressed gratitude for the leadership in the adoption of the law on the provision of assistance to Ukraine this April.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the meeting participants in detail about the frontline situation, including the constant massive Russian attacks with guided aerial bombs, drones, and missiles, as well as the situation in the Kharkiv region. The President focused on specific efforts that will help protect the region from air and ground attacks by the Russian occupiers.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of the U.S. authorization for limited use of American weapons on the battlefield and spoke about measures to limit Russia's ability to target civilian infrastructure.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces that could be met by military assistance from the United States.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke about the preparations for the Global Peace Summit and praised the cooperation of the United States in advancing the Summit and encouraging a wide range of states – the regional leaders – to participate.

He called for continued work on the allocation of frozen assets of the aggressor state, the Russian Federation, to support Ukraine.

The President and the members of Congress exchanged views on the support of our country on its path to NATO and the elaboration of the security agreement between Ukraine and the United States.
