Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb in Kyiv. In the presence of the Head of State, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Zhytomyr region and the state of Indiana was signed.
The President thanked Governor Eric Holcomb for his support of Ukraine and his interest in regional cooperation.
"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have initiated a patronage process. Developing such relations with U.S. states is extremely important. We are very grateful for your personal stance as the governor of Indiana and for the comprehensive support of Ukraine and our people who have found refuge in your state," noted Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In the presence of the President, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration Vitaliy Bunechko and Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding economic, academic, and cultural cooperation between the Zhytomyr region and the state of Indiana.
The document outlines the development of economic ties and investment, strengthening of trade relations, and exchange of experience in agriculture and high-tech manufacturing.
Additionally, the memorandum will promote enhanced cooperation between educational institutions and research organizations, as well as foster collaboration and direct contact between theaters, museums, creative associations, and foundations in the Zhytomyr region and the state of Indiana.
