According to a marketing research conducted by GfK Ukraine in January 2013 among Ukrainian Internet users (18-45 years old who live in cities with populations over 500 thousand people), among the top 5 international chain stores, restaurants and cafes Ukrainians wait for the appearance of American brands Pizza Hut (49.5% Internet users), Starbucks (39.6%) and Burger King (38.5%). Among other mostly anticipated American brands are Taco Bell (25,6%), Wendy’s (16,8%) and Banana Republic (11,2%).
According to the research, among the brands of international chain stores that are missing by Ukrainians, third and fifth places are divided between Apple Store (30%) and Walmart (25,8% of respondents).
Chain pizza Pizza Hut is the undisputed leader among women and men, but women often voted for Starbucks Coffee, while men – for Burger King.
It is noticeable that since the end of 2012 the Ukrainian market was enriched by American brand Kentucky Fried Chicken by «Yum! Brands», which also includes brands Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
