Counsel of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe and President of American Nongovernmental Organization “Airline Ambassadors International” visited Ukraine

On January 28-31, 2013 Counsel of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (also known as the U.S. Helsinki Commission) Allison Hollabaugh and President of American Nongovernmental Organization “Airline Ambassadors International” Nancy Rivard paid a visit to Ukraine to discuss the prospects of Ukraine-US cooperation in the sphere of combatting human trafficking, as one of Ukraine’s priorities within its OSCE chairmanship in 2013.
While in Ukraine the representatives of the above delegation held meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry for Social Policy, and Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The sides discussed the opportunities of drawing on the U.S. experience in this field, as well the cooperation with the American NGO “Airline Ambassadors International”.
Upon the results of the bilateral consultations the sides agreed to establish in Ukraine the trainings for airport personnel and airlines’ crews to identify potential victims of human trafficking, as well as provide “train the trainer session” for airlines.
The Ukrainian side invited Counsel of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe A.Hollabaugh, and President of American Nongovernmental Organization “Airline Ambassadors International” N.Rivard to take part in the OSCE special conference on combatting human trafficking to be held in Kyiv in June 2013, and present the above projects.
