On March 12, 2013 the Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S. hosted a round table meeting and discussion to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the world scale scientist, statesman, and Academician Volodymyr Vernadsky.
In the welcoming remarks of Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk to the audience it was stressed the importance and urgency of V.Vernadsky achievements, who was the founder of the theory of biosphere and noosphere, the science of biogeochemistry, geochemistry, radio-geology, great thinker of the twentieth century, the founder and first president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The event was attended by American scientists, representatives of academia, researchers of the scientific activities of Academician V.Vernadsky, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the Ukrainian community in the United States.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to explore the photo exhibition devoted to the life of V.Vernadsky and his researches.
Round table participants were also presented with a pre-release version of «21-st Century Science and Technology» magazine, Spring 2013, entitled «Celebrating Vladimir Vernadsky’s 150-th year anniversary».
