On March 19-20, 2013, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk together with Ambassador of Lithuania to the U.S. Žygimantas Pavilionis attended the Boston University, where a panel discussion of domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine, Lithuania and the European Union was held.
In his remarks, O.Motsyk informed about systematic reforms that take place in our country, the development of Ukraine’s European integration, Ukrainian-Lithuanian strategic partnership and relations with the U.S. and Russia. In turn, Žygimantas Pavilionis told about Lithuania’s achievements following its EU and NATO accession, current state of Lithuanian economy and anti-crisis measures. He stressed that Lithuania has steadfastly supported Ukraine’s European integration, and called upon the USA to maintain its support of Ukraine’s European integration policy.
The Ambassadors‘ remarks were followed by a discussion of topical issues of European policy and economy.
While visiting the Boston University, Ambassadors toured the campus and the BU library. O.Motsyk donated several books on Ukraine and Kyiv sights to the library.
In addition to the Boston University, Ambassadors visited MIT Sloan School of Management.
The visit to Boston included a joint meeting with Ukrainian and Lithuanian Diasporas of Massachusetts, a press lunch and a small concert of Ukrainian and Lithuanian folk music. During that event, Ambassador Motsyk donated several books on Ukraine‘s history to the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute.
