On April 17, 2013, a reception on the occasion of the «Ukrainian Days» in the U.S. Congress was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.  The annual «Ukrainian Days» advocacy program is sponsored by the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS) - the Washington public-affairs bureau of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA).

This event represents one of the aspects of cooperation between the Ukrainian American community and the highest legislative body of the U.S. It provides an opportunity to meet with the representatives of Congress, Administration officials, and think-tank organizations involved in elaborating and monitoring of U.S. policy towards Ukraine as well as discuss issues of importance to the Ukrainian American community.

The reception also featured «Friend of UNIS» award presentation highlighting UNIS honoree Orest Deychakiwsky, Policy Advisor at the U.S. Helsinki Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe for commitment in advancing interests of the Ukrainian American community.

Also, the Embassy guests had an opportunity to enjoy a film about Ukraine, as well as a concert by duo «Gerdan» with Solomiya Horokhivska (violin) and Andriy Pidkivka (flute).
