On April 20-21, 2013, the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. hosted the Ninth Leadership Seminar of the Ukrainian American Youth Association (UAYA) attended by UAYA members from various states of America as well as their mentors.
The main goal of the seminars is to help Ukrainian youth develop leadership skills to be used in the future.
Holding UAYA seminars at the Embassy has become a good tradition. During their visits to the Embassy young Ukrainians have a chance to learn about the history and activities of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in the U.S. as well as to meet with the Ambassador of Ukraine and the Embassy staff.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Ukraine Olexandr Motsyk informed of Ukraine - U.S. strategic partnership, Ukrainian foreign policy priorities and the pace of systemic reforms in our country.
Also, he underlined the important role of the young generation of Ukrainian American community in preserving Ukrainian language, traditions and culture in the U.S. as well as further strengthening of Ukraine - U.S. cooperation.
